Section 2:   PRINCIPLES AND AIMS

2.1.
To promote high professional standards of business practice amongst SDMA member companies and their employees.

2.2.
To make these standards accepted and practiced across the dressings industry and widely known to health care professionals.

2.3.
To encourage the development and appropriate use of safe and effective dressings in health care markets.

2.4.
To create an environment whereby the innovation of technically advanced products and concepts can be developed in an ethical manner.

2.5.
To promote standards of sales promotion and business activity which ensure the decision to purchase is made on the basis of the merits of the product’s acceptability for its intended purpose.

2.6.
To ensure that strong support is given to The Code by the industry with all companies devoting considerable resources to ensure that their business activities comply with it.

2.7.
To provide a complaints procedure for breaches of The Code which can be invoked by either members, non members or health care professionals.
