The Surgical Dressing Manufacturers Association

The mission of the Association is to create a framework within which the surgical dressings industry can grow and prosper in an ethical and responsible manner by:-

• Encouraging the expanding use of safe and effective surgical dressings products in health care markets.
  
  
• Creating an environment whereby the innovation of technically advanced products and concepts can be developed.
  
  
• Working in partnership with health care professionals.
  
  
• Influencing in a responsible way, the creation of a favourable regulatory environment.

Our recently introduced Code of Practice is an extremely useful tool by which the industry can learn what is and is not considered acceptable practice when working with health care professionals. The Complaints procedure linked to the Code provides a means whereby actions considered to be in breach of its requirements can be assessed by an independent panel.

You do not have to be a member of the Association to work to the Code. It simply requires an agreement, signed by a Director of the company, that you will abide by the spirit of the Code and accept the findings of the Complaints Committee should you raise a complaint or be the subject of one.
